Position Overview

Vision Quest Solutions, Inc. (VQS) is seeking qualified Armed Security Guards to provide continuous protective services in support of the United States Space Force mission at Cavalier Space Force Station (CSFS) in North Dakota.
Guards will ensure the safety and security of U.S. Space Force personnel, facilities, and assets by maintaining access control, conducting patrols, and enforcing laws and regulations in accordance with Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) directives.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain 24/7 armed access control of the installation’s entry/exit points in accordance with CSFS Integrated Defense Plan (IDP 31-1) and applicable Air Force Instructions.
Conduct facility, perimeter, and housing area patrols at least every six (6) hours, documenting all activities.
Deter, detect, and detain unauthorized individuals or suspected offenders until turned over to civilian or military law enforcement.
Enforce federal, state, and local traffic laws on the installation; direct traffic during emergencies or special events.
Operate the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) and active/passive vehicle barrier systems at the main gate.
Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents in coordination with the 319th Security Forces Squadron and local agencies.
Participate in all emergency drills and contingency operations, including exercises directed by Space Force or base leadership.
Prepare required reports and statements (e.g., AF Form 3545A, AF Form 1168) and submit to the 10 SWS/SF office as directed.
Present a professional image at all times, adhering to strict uniform and conduct standards.

Minimum Qualifications

U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must possess or be eligible to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.
Must hold or obtain a North Dakota Class 1 Armed Security License in compliance with the ND Private Investigative and Security Board (NDCC 43-30).
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must meet the physical and fitness standards in Air Force Instruction (AFI) 31-118, Security Forces Standards and Procedures, Chapter 7.
Must pass annual weapons qualification with 9 mm or .40 cal handgun and be trained in use-of-force and non-lethal weapons (OC spray, baton, or ECD).
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, medical exam, and annual physical confirming fitness for duty.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior military, law enforcement, or DoD protective services experience.
Familiarity with Air Force/Space Force base operations, integrated defense concepts, and AFI 31-117 (Arming and Use of Force).
CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
Experience working in cold-weather or northern-tier installations.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Must stand, walk, or remain on post for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform duties in extreme cold and snow conditions.
Must wear all assigned duty gear including body armor and sidearm.
Prolonged outdoor exposure and shift work required.

Uniforms & Equipment

VQS provides all duty gear meeting or exceeding Air Force and NIJ standards, including:

Ballistic vest (NIJ Level IIIA)
Duty belt with holster, handcuffs, and ammunition pouches
9 mm weapon
Non-lethal options (baton, OC, ECD)
All-weather uniform, parka, and rain gear

Professional Standards

Strict adherence to Space Force and installation security policies, including the tobacco-free and drug-free worksite requirements.
Must remain alert, disciplined, and mission-focused at all times.
Subject to random inspections, quality control checks, and customer audits.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
