Safety Services Officer

Job Summary
The Safety Services Officer reports directly to the Director of Safety Services and Safety Services Supervisor while also taking direction from leadership including the General Manager, Human Resources, and Directors of Facilities, Banquets, Convention Services, and Executive Chef.
This role is responsible for overseeing all safety and security procedures, responding to operational concerns, and ensuring a safe environment for guests, employees, and the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring guests, employees, and facility grounds.
- Execute facility and emergency procedures in leadership roles, including evacuations for fire, earthquake, flood, gas leaks, or active shooter situations.
- Respond to guest and employee injuries/illnesses, ensure proper medical attention is provided, and complete necessary reports.
- Serve as a leader and role model, demonstrating professionalism and teamwork.
- Report and investigate any violations of law or company policies.
- Conduct routine patrols of the facility, including interior and exterior grounds.
- Handle cash securely, manage facility keys and radio logs.
- Operate and monitor security cameras and surveillance software.
- Use metal detectors and perform bag checks at facility entry points.
- Provide helpful and courteous guest services.
- Document incidents using company software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Follow all safety and health regulations per company policy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and facility operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have a valid Guard Card Registration through BSIS.
- If you have your Guard Registration, you should have completed or be in the process of completing BSIS training, and we will need to keep a copy of the completed training on file as per BSIS regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, military, security, or the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
- Must be fluent in English (Spanish fluency is a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for long periods without relief.
- Frequently required to reach, lift, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate security equipment, including surveillance monitors and metal detectors.
