Job Description
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all members, guests, and staff, as well as protecting property and verifying authorized presence of guests and contractors to the Resort. This position will be required to work an overnight shift, typically 9 pm to 5 am, once the office is closed. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Office:
- Control gate entrances and access, checking for valid Gate Cards, guests passes or authorized contractors.
- Answer security phone and respond appropriately to any security calls
- Respond to Member requests or incidents as appropriate and fill out required reports
- Secures all office doors when applicable
- Monitor all areas for safety
- Assist Members with information or assistance when possible
- Completes Patrol Logs, Incident Reports, Violation Citations, etc as applicable
Lodge:
- Checks and secures all locks/doors as appropriate to standard operating procedures
- Check for unauthorized access to secure areas and safety at the activities center
- Monitors the Swimming Pool area for unsafe or unauthorized activity by Members or guests
- Reports in appropriate activity via incident report or direct call to supervisor as appropriate
- Turn off lights as appropriate
Patrolling:
- Patrol through all common areas, RV section, Arena, Chapel Hill Cabins and Rainbow Cabins
- Monitor all areas for unsafe behavior and anyone in need of assistance
- Enforces the quiet hours: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. - for loud music or talking
- Enforce speed limits, typically 10 to 20 mph maximum – both vehicles and golf carts
- Monitor Golf Carts for current inspection sticker issuing citations as needed
- Enforce and cite violation of underage or unlicensed golf cart operators (minimum age is 15 with permit)
- Politely enforces the ranch’s Leash Laws and Clean Up policies: Dogs must be restrained 10’ leash
- Check Bath Houses and laundry facilities at random, turning off inside lights when not in use
- Patrol Crystal and Rainbow Lakes monitoring the safety of people using the lakes
- Patrol RV Storage Area, reporting unauthorized vehicles or improper parking
- Challenge any suspicious persons or vehicles for Illegal Trespass
- Be aware of horses and if they have problems such as injured or out of the fences
- Monitor all campfires and make sure they are put out
- Watch over maintenance equipment for theft, vandalism or improper use
- Watch for wildlife, reporting dangerous situations or property damage
- Monitor ranch property for fire, broken water pipes, electrical outages, vandalism, etc
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- High level of customer service orientation and experience of de-escalating situations
- CPR Certification a plus
- Prior military, law enforcement, or security experience preferred
Other Qualifications
- Becomes well educated on the current Ranch Polices and Guidelines to properly enforce them
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have valid DL and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass background and drug test
- Must have flexible schedule
Physical Requirements
- Duties will generally require you to be both indoors & outdoors in the elements (heat, cold, rain, dust & dirt)
- Required use of hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- May occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb or balance
- Occasional medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Vision requirements include color vision, the ability to adjust focus and close vision
- Must be able to speak and hear
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
