Gunnison Copper formerly Excelsior Mining, has an immediate employment opportunity for Security-Gate Guard at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project located in southeastern Arizona between the cities of Benson and Willcox.
This position is responsible for controlling entry gate activity, assisting visitors/truck drivers (including a scale operation) and general clerical support function for the company.
Responsibilities:
- Greets Visitors and provides direction/assistance
- Controls site access entry and egress at assigned gate areas
- Participates in security functions such as vehicle/property searches
- Provides site specific Hazard training orientation for visitors/vendors as needed
- Conduct equipment and vehicle acceptance reviews
- Cooperate with and support Safety/Security functions as needed
- Effective communication required
- Complete daily log books
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous security experience or loss control experience helpful but not required.
- Previous mine experience a plus
- Must be able to use a radio or phone
- Typing, filing and record keeping skills are necessary for this position
- Arizona State Guard License preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid Drivers’ License
- May be required to work rotating shifts 24/7/365
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment
- Computer skills including: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of laws and regulations in the mining industry preferred
- Must be a highly motivated, energetic team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment
