Role Summary:
The IT and Cybersecurity Specialist is part of a growing IT and cybersecurity team. The IT and Cybersecurity Specialist will provide operational support and assist in maintaining our IT infrastructure and ensuring cybersecurity compliance with NIST, GLBA, and state requirements. You will work with IT leadership and Legal/Compliance to develop, maintain, and improve the IT and cybersecurity controls framework. Initially focused on Emporium TPO, this role will also contribute to IT initiatives across our other companies, working closely with the IT and Cybersecurity Manager to strengthen the overall IT environment. You will be an important part of promoting a complaint culture. Our ideal candidate is a personable, adaptable, organized, creative, and collaborative individual. To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess excellent communication skills, acute attention to detail, and work effectively with a challenging workload, multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with third-party IT MSP to provide IT support to employees, including troubleshooting, hardware/software setup, and user training.
- Lead and guide the MSP in implementing security policies, monitoring alerts, and coordinating incident response activities.
- Conduct routine system audits, document findings, and implement fixes under the direction of the IT and Cybersecurity Manager.
- Support ongoing compliance with NIST CSF, GLBA, and state-specific cybersecurity regulations. Assist Chief Compliance Officer in responding to audit, examination, and due diligence questionnaires
- Assist with drafting and updating cybersecurity policies, procedures, and user awareness training.
- Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, incident reports, and audit records.
- Stay updated on IT and cybersecurity trends, recommending improvements to tools and processes.
- Contribute to cross-company IT initiatives and support tasks as part of the IT team.
- Interact internally with associates to gather needed materials and information
- Create and deliver periodic reports on the status of tasks and assigned projects
- Assist with other tasks as directed
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of proven experience in IT operations and cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of IT tools, networks, and security controls (e.g., Microsoft 365, MFA, Intune endpoint management).
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g. NIST CSF, GLBA, CIS Controls) Experience working in a matrixed organization
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications) are preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.
- Ability to think, remember, and learn new information to apply to job functions
- Successful applicants will be intellectually agile, diligent, hardworking, and eager to learn.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required, experience with Teams helpful
- Self-starter with a proven ability to use analytical and investigative skills to collaboratively solve problems on a high performing team.
