Qualis LLC is seeking a Security Specialist to provide support to our government customer at Hill AFB, UT.
Essential Duties:
- Implement, enforce, and update DoD, USAF, MAJCOM, and Center security policies and procedures, including local SOPs, for the classification, safeguarding, and control of classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI)
- Review, process, classify, and declassify inbound/outbound documents and data (up to Top Secret), ensuring proper marking, handling, and destruction, and conduct classification reviews
- Maintain a comprehensive document accountability system, performs inventories, processes transmittal receipts, and manages the secure transfer/storage of electronic data, ensuring media sanitization
- Manage facility access control systems, including badges, visitor escorts, and visit requests, verifying clearances and need-to-know
- Maintain personnel security files, assist with clearance processing and reinvestigations, monitor clearance status, report security violations, and facilitate SAP Nomination Questionnaires
- Conduct security awareness training, provide refresher training, develop awareness materials, and implement OPSEC measures
- Respond to security incidents, conduct preliminary investigations, assist with corrective actions, and participates in damage assessments
- Support internal and external security inspections and audits, assist with responses, and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement mitigation strategies, and monitor/maintain physical security measures (alarms, surveillance)
- Participate in emergency response drills and implement emergency procedures
- Assist with the administration of security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance) and troubleshoot issues
- Enforce information security policies, monitor network activity, and participate in the organization's insider threat program
- Assist in the development/implementation of security plans and continuous monitoring programs
- Maintain a clean work environment, perform assigned duties, and troubleshoot security programs
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor's degree
- 3-10 years of related security experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance
- Knowledge of Security Regulations and Policies: Deep understanding of DoD, USAF, and other relevant security regulations, policies, and procedures
- Classification Management: Ability to properly classify, declassify, and safeguard information according to established guidelines
- Document Control: Expertise in managing and tracking classified documents, including maintaining accountability systems
- Access Control: Proficiency in managing access control systems, verifying clearances, and processing visit requests
- Personnel Security: Skill in maintaining personnel security files and assisting with clearance processing
- Security Awareness Training: Ability to develop and deliver effective security awareness training programs
- Incident Response: Skill in responding to security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and assess security risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Physical Security: Knowledge of physical security measures and the ability to monitor and maintain them
- Information Security: Understanding of information security principles and the ability to enforce related policies
- OPSEC: Knowledge of Operations Security principles and the ability to implement OPSEC measures
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate security policies and procedures clearly
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolvesecurity-related problems
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze security risks and vulnerabilities
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including security databases and application
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Integrity and Trustworthiness: Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness due to the sensitive nature of the information handled
- Knowledge of Security Systems: Familiarity with security systems such as access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing security requirements and technologies
- Knowledge of Insider Threat Programs: Ability to identify and report potential insider threats
- Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time
