Overview
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the medical office's. This role ensures the protection of staff, patients, and visitors, while also safeguarding the facility and property. The Security Guard will respond to emergencies, enforce clinic rules and regulations, and support staff in managing any disruptive or unsafe situations with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor entrances, exits, and waiting areas to ensure safety and security.
- Greet and screen patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional manner.
- Check identification and verify appointments, as required.
- Patrol the premises regularly to deter theft, vandalism, or unsafe activity.
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
- De-escalate conflicts in a calm, respectful, and professional manner.
- Assist medical and administrative staff in handling unruly or aggressive individuals.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and security logs.
- Enforce compliance with office policies (e.g., visitor rules, restricted areas).
- Support evacuation or emergency procedures, including fire drills or medical emergencies.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders, when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Valid NYS Security Guard License (required).
- Prior experience as a security guard, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting.
- Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and act quickly in emergencies.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Bilingual abilities (English/Russian/Spanish) a plus, depending on patient population.
Work Environment
- Medical office/clinic setting.
- Interaction with diverse populations including patients, staff, and visitors.
- May involve standing or walking for extended periods.
- Requires vigilance and discretion to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
