Job Summary
The Security Officer are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of a company's employees, visitors, and associated property. Required to patrol, respond to safety and security threats, and establish a security presence. The security department also functions as a front-facing customer service representative for Bradford Marine and must always be polite and professional and maintain good customer relations.
This is a part-time position (16-18 hours per week) expected to work during daytime hours.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Protect the company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
- Monitoring alarms and surveillance systems
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
- Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations
- Provides any needed assistance to customers, employees, and visitors following the department's procedures
- Greeting visitors, checking them in, and directing them to the appropriate department
- Covers shift for other officers as needed
- May perform duties during required coverage as assigned
- performs other related duties as assigned by the security department manager

Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years security guard experience
- Class D Security License required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- Requires the ability to use speech, vision, and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
- Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
