Full Time Security Guard
Monday-Friday 6 am-2 pm
$17.50/hour
POSITION PURPOSE:
To professionally represent and carry out the Lopez Foods policies and procedures while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor all incoming and outgoing traffic for Lopez Foods facility.
- It is Security’s responsibility to make sure all Lopez associates are issued a hangtag to be allowed onto and to be identified when on Lopez property.
- Check and maintain all daily logs including receiving, shipping, visitors and contractors.
- It is Security’s responsibility to check the Pre-test file on the computer for test results (Eccolli 157H7) for incoming beef, frozen import, and BPI meat loads.
- It is Security’s responsibility to check all incoming paperwork for receiving to ensure that Bill of Laden (BOL), Cost of Analysis (COA), and seal numbers both on paperwork and trailer are correct before being allowed onto Lopez Foods property.
- Security is responsible for checking all seal numbers on shipping trucks and will receive a copy of the BOL when exiting Lopez property. Security is responsible for sending shipping trucks back to the shipping department if the numbers are incorrect on BOL. This includes seal numbers, sales order numbers, and trailer or container numbers.
- Receive and record property removal and product removal.
- Knowledge of Security keys, location of keys and the proper use for all keys.
- Emergency procedures knowledge to include Honeywell (HSN) plant alarms and use of the cell phone incase of emergencies.
- Ensure safety and security through use of the Lopez Foods surveillance camera system and perimeter walk around the plant periodically throughout the day and after hours. Including the hourly walk through the parking lot(s)
- Security is responsible for keeping all counts of the comings and goings at Lopez Foods and entering those totals into the TOSS file (Total Overall Security Statistics) to be totaled quarterly and annually.
- Responsible for checking all 24hr access cards on non-production weekends and holidays.
- Security personnel are responsible for proper housekeeping of the Security Center.
- Security is in contact with purchasing to help keep them informed of late receiving trucks and trucks that need to be re-scheduled if need be. Security also informs purchasing of trucks that have checked in incase of any special need to keep production up and running without down time.
- Security is responsible for keeping track of terminated associates to ensure that they do not enter the premises without proper permission from Human Resources.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Security Officers assist in training of new officers both full and part-time.
- Security supervises the perimeter of the plant to ensure that all rules and procedures are being abided: associates and others are kept off grass, property damage, 10mile speed limit, proper parking, stop signs, one-way signs, reserved parking, and handicap parking

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must be able to read and decipher schedules and spreadsheets. Must be able to read Bill of Laden and decipher shipping manifest. Must have good verbal and communication skills, computer experience with Excel and Word, and customer service experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Security experience preferred but not required
- Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred

- Must be able to walk 3 to 4 miles daily, moderate bending and climbing, must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds
