Summary
We are seeking a Recovery Advocate to join our team at Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting adolescents as they navigate their recovery journey. Your contributions will help create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that fosters healing and growth.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Security (RECOVERY ADVOCATE)
REPORTS TO: PROGRAM MANAGER
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The Security/Recovery Advocate shall perform the following duties and function as a part of the Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center team:
a. Must be able to pass a physical fitness test during the interview process and any preceding testing, including, but not limited to: able to run 1.5 miles in under 12 minutes, complete 30 push-ups in under 1 minute, complete 40 sit-ups in under 1 minute, and climb over an 8-foot fence.
b. Perform various physical tasks, such as running, climbing, jumping, and lifting, in situations that may require rapid response.
c. Monitor security cameras throughout your entire shift. If you must momentarily stop monitoring them, assign the monitoring to another member of the team.
d. Detect and monitor elopements and maintain visual and/or verbal contact with an eloping resident and take all reasonable verbal measures as necessary to convince an eloping resident to return to the Stonewater campus voluntarily.
e. Handle any incidents, crises, perceived dangers, elopements, and/or conflicts professionally and lovingly. Notify all emergency personnel and necessary staff members in crisis situations and complete all necessary paperwork related to incidents in a thorough and timely manner.
f. Be flexible and available to work any and all shifts assigned.
g. Be responsible for developing a healthy relationship with each resident (whether individually or as a group).
h.Teach appropriate conflict management resolution skills and relational boundaries.
i. Provide and receive shift report during shift exchange to debrief events that occurred during the shift. Example topics include: resident trades, issues or concerns, new or discontinued orders, admissions and discharges, room assignments, etc.
j. Encourage compliance with Stonewater expectations and policies to all residents, staff and volunteers. Address any conflicts and concerns directly with staff in a professional, loving and confidential manner. Consistently seek to maintain unity and cohesion in the organization and respect all members of the organization.
k. Attend all staff meetings as directed, even when not on assigned shift.
l. Transport residents to appointments and outings.
m. Adhere to all regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and state/federal guidelines.
n. Be punctual in reporting for scheduled shifts. Notify your supervisor in cases involving emergencies or other factors that may influence work attendance, early shift leave or punctuality. At no time can you leave or fail to attend your scheduled shift without prior verbal approval from your supervisor.
o. Complete other duties as assigned.
Educational/Professional Qualifications:
a. High school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
b. Experience in security or law enforcement preferred.

a. A passion to see individuals who deal with mental health and substance use disorders experience healing, life change and purposeful living and believe that change can happen under the conditions defined in the Stonewater Vision Statement, Mission Statement and Core Values.

c. Good physical health and emotional maturity.
d. Ability to work with residents/staff/volunteers who have varying faith backgrounds.

g. Good communication skills.
h. Access to a reliable vehicle.
i. Current and valid driver’s license and seven years driving experience.
j. Clean DMV record.
k. Proof of current, effective driver’s insurance.
l. Child Abuse Index Check clearance.
m. Fingerprint/DOJ clearance.
n. Health and TB clearance.
o. Good time management skills and an ability to multitask.
p. Must be able to self-initiate activities/tasks.
