General Definition of Work
Employee will perform intermediate protective service work, involving a variety of general security assignments and related work as required. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.
· Provides site security on the premises of contract properties, by responding to calls for assistance and performing general patrol duties.
· Responds to radio dispatches and answers calls and complaints; administers first aid.
· Checks building and site security; responds to alarms.
· Operates screening equipment.
· Provides security at special events.
· Reports unsafe conditions existing in or around contract properties.
· Conducts and assists with investigations by preserving evidence, interviewing victims and witnesses, performing property and evidence duties.
· Prepares detailed reports.
· Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of security methods, practices, and procedures; some knowledge of the geography of contract properties and location of important buildings; knowledge of the rules and regulations for Security Guards as outlined by NC Statues; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to prepare clear reports; ability to deal courteously but firmly with the public; ability to analyze situations and to adopt quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances; skill in the operation of an automobile; ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with associates and the general public.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Special Requirements
Must meet and maintain minimum training and experience requirements for position as established by the company and the state of North Carolina.
Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of North Carolina
