Security Officers (Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 3:00PM - 11:00PM, 40 hours/week)
We are currently hiring dedicated security officers for a consistent, full-time shift with a fixed schedule. This is a great opportunity to join a team-oriented work environment where you'll be collaborating with other staff members. The position and schedule are stable and do not change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shelter Entrance Monitoring: You will manage the entrance to the shelter, which is the designated entry/exit point for participants, staff, vendors, and visitors. Your role includes authorizing and overseeing their entry and departure.
- Bag & Person Screening: You’ll be responsible for screening all participants' personal belongings and ensuring their safety when entering the shelter. This crucial responsibility involves ensuring the security of the shelter while treating every individual with respect and professionalism.
- Patrolling the Premises: Perform regular patrols to monitor the facility, looking out for signs of intrusion and ensuring the overall security of the building. You’ll also generate reports as needed based on your observations.
- Shelter Safety: While patrolling, you’ll observe shelter operations to identify and report any safety hazards, such as spills, unsafe conditions, or defective equipment. You’ll assist in maintaining a safe environment for all.
- Client & Facility Monitoring: Monitor the shelter's dorms and perimeters, assisting clinical and case management staff as necessary to maintain safety and order.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Regular, punctual attendance is required.
- Ability to treat all guests and participants with dignity, professionalism, and respect.
- A positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of problem-solving.
