Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing unauthorized access, and responding promptly to incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is highly valued. The Security Guard position offers an essential service that maintains a safe environment for all.
Duties
- Enforce access control protocols by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes as needed.
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, or emergencies, including medical situations requiring first aid or CPR if certified.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism and conflict management skills to de-escalate disputes or disturbances.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing suspicious behavior and intervening when necessary.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during investigations or emergencies.
- Maintain a visible presence on-site to deter potential threats and provide assistance to staff and visitors.
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or professional security roles is preferred.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly desirable; candidates with these certifications will be prioritized.
- Experience with surveillance systems such as CCTV and alarm monitoring is advantageous.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively.
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and security protocols is beneficial.
- Strong observational skills coupled with the ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations are essential for success in this role. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a secure environment through vigilance, professionalism, and proactive engagement.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
