Job Overview
We are looking for a vigilant and dependable Unarmed Security Guard to join our residential security team. This role is essential for maintaining a peaceful and secure living environment for our residents and staff. We offer immediate-start opportunities with consistent 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM). The ideal candidate will be a professional presence on-site, dedicated to monitoring the property, enforcing community policies, and responding swiftly to any incidents.
Core Responsibilities
- Active Property Patrols: Conduct frequent foot patrols of apartment grounds, parking structures, and common areas to deter unauthorized access.
- Surveillance Monitoring: Manage CCTV systems to identify potential threats or policy violations in real-time.
- Policy Enforcement: Fairly and professionally enforce community rules and regulations to ensure a high quality of life for all residents.
- Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to alarms, noise complaints, or medical emergencies, escalating to local law enforcement or EMS when necessary.
- Detailed Reporting: Maintain an accurate daily log of activities and draft professional incident reports for management.
- Resident Relations: Provide courteous assistance to residents and guests, serving as a helpful and approachable point of contact.
- Conflict De-escalation: Use verbal communication skills to diffuse tense situations or disputes effectively.
- Safety & First Aid: Be prepared to provide basic first aid or CPR if a medical situation arises on-site.
Position Requirements
- Experience: Previous background in security, military service, or law enforcement is preferred.
- Availability: Must be able to commit to 12-hour shifts (either Day or Night rotations) and maintain a reliable schedule.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with CCTV operations and basic digital reporting tools.
- Certifications: Valid First Aid/CPR certification is highly desirable; must hold a current state security guard registration (if applicable).
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate clearly with residents, staff, and emergency responders.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 44 per week

At 2:15 PM on Tuesday, a staff member observed a resident collapse near the fitness center. Upon confirming the individual was unresponsive, they immediately alerted 911 with the exact location and the victim's status.
While awaiting EMS, the staff member utilized CPR training to maintain the resident's airway and kept the area clear of bystanders. When paramedics arrived, the staff member directed them to the scene and provided a concise timeline of events. Once the resident was stabilized and transported, the staff member secured the area and submitted a formal account of the incident and response actions to the Property Manager.
