- Conduct routine patrols of buildings, parking lots, and surrounding property to ensure safety and security
- Monitor entrances and verify identification to ensure only authorized personnel access restricted areas
- Inspect doors, windows, and vehicles on the property to ensure they are properly secured
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity
- Observe and report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and unusual activity
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and requests for assistance in a calm and professional manner
- Provide escorts for employees or visitors when requested
- Assist visitors by providing directions and general information
- Respond to emergency situations such as alarms, medical incidents, or safety concerns and contact emergency services when necessary
- Document all incidents, observations, and patrol activities in detailed daily activity reports
- Maintain professionalism and positive communication with staff, visitors, and local law enforcement
- Valid North Carolina Security Guard License
- Proven ability to remain alert, vigilant, and proactive during long shifts in various environments
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and experience with loss prevention strategies
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, or law enforcement experience are highly desirable
- Background in security, military service, or related fields is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately
- Ability to work independently while adhering to company policies and procedures
