This is a courtesy posting for a non-merit, full-time position.
Applications are being accepted by the Iowa General Assembly for the position of Security Officer 1.
Responsible for performing security checks at State Capitol entrance points and patrolling Capitol and Miller Office Building in order to detect suspicious activity and ensure the safety of persons and property.
Shift is Thursday-Friday-Saturday, off on Sunday, then Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. Then off for six days. Each shift is 10 hours, roughly 7a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Iowa Legislature participates in the Federal E-Verify program.”
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Four year degree (BA/BS) from accredited college or university required with professional security/law enforcement experience of five years. High School Diploma, GED, or military experience and related professional security/law enforcement experience in excess of five years minimum may be substituted for education.
