JOB TITLE: Security Officer

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing security services at assigned client locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles or people into properties
Coordinate and assist clients with the removal of wrongdoers or trespassers from the premises
Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
Provide assistance to people in need
Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
Submit daily reports of surveillance activity and incidents
Follow all company policies and procedures while on duty
Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to tolerate exposure to outside elements including inclement weather for an 8-12 hours shift
Must be able to walk, run and climb stairs
Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must have sufficient hearing to respond to normal verbal speech, alarm signals, radio and telephone communications
Must have sufficient visual acuity to read and understand tenant rosters, employee listings, post order, maps, computer screens, and check identification

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma with 1 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Must be able to communicate in English)
Effective public speaking skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
