Patrol school grounds, including parking lots, entrances, hallways, and other facilities, to prevent unauthorized access and ensure a safe environment
Supports staff with ALICE training and review of campus specific responses
Assists administration with review and update of crisis management plan
Consults with administration and make recommendations in regards to campus safety and security
Assists with threat assessments upon request of administration
Liaison/Contact from DSA to/from Doral Sheriff’s Office
Annual risk assessment with Doral Sheriff’s Office
Manage and monitor all entrances to the campus
Verify the identity of visitors, ensure all guests sign in, and issue visitor badges in accordance with school protocols
Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of emergencies such as fire drills, natural disasters, medical emergencies, or security breaches
Assist in de-escalating potential conflicts or disruptive situations among students, staff, or visitors
Work with school administrators to handle behavioral issues in a calm, Christian manner
Assist with the orderly arrival and departure of students, including supervising student drop-off and pick-up areas, as needed
Work closely with teachers, staff, and administration to ensure that all safety procedures are understood and followed
Represent the Christian values of the school, fostering an atmosphere of peace, respect, and kindness in all interactions with students, staff, and visitors
Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and observations
Submit detailed reports to school administration as required
Help enforce school rules and guidelines in a respectful and consistent manner, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for academic and spiritual growth
Monitor security cameras and alarm systems for suspicious activity
Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate school authorities
High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
Must have a current D & G Security Guard license
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
Professional Crisis Management - Training provided by DSA
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to interact professionally with students, parents, staff, and visitors
Must be able to pass a background check and adhere to school’s safety and security standards
Must align with our Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement
The role involves frequent standing, walking, and patrolling of the school grounds, including both indoors and outdoors
The Security Guard may need to lift or carry objects up to a moderate weight (e.g., up to 30-50 pounds), such as security equipment, supplies, or assisting in emergency situations
The ability to see and recognize potential security threats or suspicious activities from a distance
The potential need to assist students or staff in evacuations, provide basic first aid, or handle difficult situations that may involve physical intervention or restraint (following school policies and training)
Adequate hearing is required to respond to alarms, verbal communication, and environmental sounds that may indicate an emergency or need for assistance
