Job purpose
Responsible for the security and safety of businesses and other real estate holdings in Florida.
Essential Functions
The job duties and responsibilities of the position of Security Associate include, but are not limited to:
1. Protect the buildings and grounds to which personnel are assigned, including contents, occupants and visitors.
2. Enforce the rules and regulations governing the facility.
3. Direct traffic, both foot and vehicular.
4. Maintain order on posts and help people requiring assistance or information.
5. Familiarize themselves with all general and special orders, and carry them out to the letter.
6. Supervise and enforce applicable systems of identifying personnel and vehicles of people entering or leaving building without required authorization.
7. Conduct periodic prescribed inspections of all areas at designated times to ascertain their condition of security and safety.
8. Maintain order and report any incidents to the Supervisor, which disrupt such order.
9. Report incidents of employees or individuals on the premises engaged in horseplay, loitering or in violation of clearly stated policies. Report all sickness or accidents involving employees and visitors at or on all facilities.
10. Instantly sound the alarm and respond to fires.
11. Log and turn in lost or unclaimed property.
12. Make full reports to supervisors on all unusual circumstances.

14. Daily inspection of sensitive areas such as residence of the family, alarms, lights, fences, doors, windows, locks, barriers, safes, communications and all transportation equipment.
15. Assist in investigation of losses, violations of company regulations, inspections, and audits as well as maintain a liaison relationship with public police, fire agencies and private security force.
16. Inspect and test security and fire systems at appropriate intervals to maintain peak operating performance.
17. Recommend improvements to existing security and life safety systems on an ongoing basis.
18. Represent Chief of Security in his/her absence.
19. Work nights, weekends or holidays to fill open shift or special detail (within reason) as needed.
20. Handle any other duties assigned by supervisor.

4. To be present and ready to work on time as scheduled
5. Possess a good driving record and valid license and comply with vehicle safety operation policy
6. Previous police agency or federal law enforcement experience preferred
7. Previous supervisory experience in law enforcement/security related field.(Minimum of 10 years).
8. Possess a minimum of 15 years’ experience in security/law enforcement/personal protection.
9. National or State Law Enforcement Academy training preferred.
10. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
