Fidelis Security Solutions has openings for Temporary Security Guards to work the external parking lot and perimeter of a music venue in Colorado Springs. These positions are expected to start in mid to late April 2025 and continue until approximately October 2025. These positions are temporary and only for the duration of the concert season. Fidelis does not guarantee any employment beyond the end of the concert season. All positions are unarmed.
Hours and workdays will vary depending on the schedule of events at the venue. Generally, from 1 to 3 events may be scheduled each week on various days, but some weeks may not have any events scheduled while others could involve multiple events. Applicants should be flexible and available to work at most events. Currently there are anywhere between 20 and 35 events that are anticipated during the season. The schedule is subject to change. Shift times will vary according to the schedule of the events but will generally be afternoons and evenings until approximately midnight.
Temporary Guard positions are paid $20 per hour. Uniforms will be provided. Applicants must meet all requirements to be licensed as Security Guards in the City of Colorado Springs.
Job Summary:
The Temporary Security Guard position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated areas, monitoring access, and responding to potential security threats or incidents. This role involves patrolling assigned locations, controlling traffic, verifying or collecting payment for parking access, and providing assistance to employees and visitors as needed. The Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a secure environment by adhering to company policies and emergency procedures. This position does involve standing and/or walking in areas with moving vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
· Patrol and Parking Access:
o Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to ensure safety and security in accordance with established procedures.
o Uses hand held scanner or other electronic device to collect or verify payment of parking fees at facility.
o Directs vehicle and/or pedestrian traffic at control points to facilitate the ingress and egress of customers
o Ensures vehicles park in designated areas according to legal requirements and instructions of event staff
· Incident Response:
o Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly, following company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective resolution.
o Reports emergency situations to law enforcement or emergency services as necessary.
· Access Control and Visitor Management:
o Verify that all employees and visitors have proper credentials, such as ID badges or visitor passes, before granting access to restricted areas.
o Provide assistance to employees and visitors with any safety concerns or access needs
o Provides directions and assistance to visitors.
· Reporting and Documentation:
o Complete incident reports and other required documentation for all security incidents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
· Additional Duties:
o Perform other security-related duties as assigned by the supervisor, venue staff or incident commander, maintaining flexibility to adapt to shifting security priorities.
o Picks up garbage in parking areas after show end.
o Follows directions of supervisors, client staff and other security personnel at the venue.
o Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications highly desirable.
· Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is desired.
· Strong observational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to security incidents.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies efficiently.
· Must be able to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, in all weather conditions, as required.
· Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, patrol designated areas, and respond promptly to alarms or incidents.
