Job Summary
The position of unarmed Wildfire Security is seasonal. We are currently seeking individuals throughout the state of Oregon who are available during some, or all of the months between mid June through mid October. This position is remote and the location can be anywhere in the state of Oregon and/or surrounding areas of the state. An applicant must have his or her own reliable transportation and drivers license, be able to respond to a call out within a 8 to 24 hour window, camp outside at a "fire camp" for 2 to 3 weeks at a time (food and other amenities are provided), work 12 hour shifts that can range from 7am to 7pm, or 7pm to 7am, as well as being a reliable, responsible, self sufficient person with a positive attitude. Security responsibilities include, but are not limited to, entry/exit checkpoints at the camp site, general surveillance of the camp, manning road closures, and patrolling specified areas.
Qualifier: You must possess or obtain an Unarmed Security Guard Card and take your Executive Manager course online. (WE CAN ASSIST YOU IN THIS PROCESS).
NOTE: My company strives to create a positive TEAM environment at all fire camps we are called out to. Security interacts in some manner with EVERYONE at a fire including nearby residents who reside nearby. Customer service oriented people tend to do very well working as fire camp security.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (Depends on the Contract)
Schedule: 12 hour shift (no overtime)
Experience: Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: DPSST Guard Card (Preferred) *There may be contracts where Guard Cards are not required.
Work Location: Remote, on the road (road closures and fire camps).
