Job Summary
S.S.G. is hiring experienced BSIS Security Guards to support a large-scale event in San Jose, Ca. Guards will be responsible for access control, crowd monitoring, enforcing event policies, and maintaining a safe environment for all attendees and staff.

Job Title: Security Guard (BSIS) - Special Event
Location: Downtown San Jose
Dates: May 23 - May 26
Shifts:
Friday 05/23 - Sunday 05/25
- 07:30 - 14:30
- 14:00 - 21:00
- 20:30 - 03:00
Monday 05/26
- 07:30 - 16:00
- 11:30 - 15:00
Pay: $23h - $26h (DOE)
Requirements (Must Meet All Criteria)
- Current & active BSIS Guard Card - REQUIRED
- 2+ consecutive years of professional security experience - (Event or venue experience preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience with:
- Event access control
- Crowd monitoring
- Policy enforcement
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
- High level of situational awareness and professionalism
- Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Reliable transportation – must arrive on time despite traffic or parking delays
- Compliance with all uniform and grooming standards
- Team-oriented, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and ability to complete incident documentation accurately
Responsibilities
Security Guards must remain alert, professional, and courteous while ensuring the safety of all attendees, staff, and property.
- Monitor entry/exit points and restricted areas
- Enforce venue policies professionally and consistently
- Conduct bag checks or screenings as assigned
- Maintain line control and flow in high-traffic areas
- Deter and report suspicious behavior
- Respond swiftly to incidents per protocol
- Provide courteous assistance to guests and staff
- Stay alert, focused, and off personal devices while on post
- Arrive on time, in full uniform, ready to work
Uniform Standards – All Black, Clean, Pressed, and Professional
- Pants: Black dress pants (fitted, no cargo, jeans, joggers, leggings, or sweatpants)
- Shoes: Black dress shoes/business casual (no sneakers, no boots, no sandals, no colors, no white soles)
- Belt: Plain, unfaded black belt (no logos or large buckles)
- Socks: Solid black only
- (We will provide a uniform shirt and jacket)
Grooming Standards
- Clean, well-groomed appearance (hair and facial hair)
- Long hair must be tied back in a neat bun
- No exposed tattoos or facial piercings
- Makeup must be minimal and appropriate for a professional setting
Parking & Transportation
- Downtown San Jose is highly congested during major events.
- Plan ahead for traffic, street closures, and limited parking.
- Late arrivals may be removed from the schedule.
