Job Description Summary:
The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach is seeking a
Security Supervisor to join our team. Per the direction of the General Manager and the direct supervision of the General Services Manager and in accordance with the Board of Directors approved Security Manual’s policies and procedures, supervises the day-to-day security operations and staff at The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach.
Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Perimeter and Access Control: Maintain vigilant control of property perimeters and access points. Administer decal and pass distribution to employees, residents, guests, vendors, and construction workers in accordance with established policies and procedure
- Property and Residential Checks: Regularly perform detailed inspections of properties and residential houses to ensure ongoing security and compliance with community standards.
- Compliance Monitoring: Support the General Services Manager in daily monitoring of adherence to Covenants, Rules, and Regulations within the community, including on construction sites. Report and document any observed violations or areas of concern.
- Community Warnings and Emergency Preparedness: Assist in issuing community warnings, particularly related to hurricane preparedness. Ensure timely communication and readiness protocols are followed for all residents and stakeholders.
- Interagency Interaction: Professionally interact with state and county officials, police, fire, and medical personnel in accordance with established policies, especially in community emergency situations. Coordinate security efforts with civil authorities as needed.
- Emergency Response Coordination: Organize and participate in community emergency response activities in collaboration with local and state agencies to ensure a unified and effective approach to public safety.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain required reports, briefings, and updates to the Security Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and community security records and databases. Ensure the accuracy and currency of all documentation.
- Provide Briefings and Updates to Board of Directors: Communicate essential security updates, reports, and developments to the GM, GSM, and Board of Directors as needed to keep leadership informed and engaged.
- Upkeep and Maintenance: Liaise with other Plantation employees and outside vendors to coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of security buildings, vehicles, computers, and all related security equipment, supplies, and assets.
- Customer Relations: Execute all duties in a manner that fosters excellent customer relations with community members, guests, employees, and outside entities. Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach at all times.
- Professional Presentation: Adhere to high standards of personal appearance, including proper uniforms and grooming, to project a professional and trustworthy image.
- Budget: Accessing, creating, and managing security budget.
- Risk Assessments: Provides community risk assessments with courses of action to limit or eliminate those risks.

Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of security or related experience. Consideration may be given to similar work experience.
- Prior leadership experience
- Florida Security Officer License, required
- CPR & AED Certification, required
- Technical knowledge of computers, video surveillance, radar, radio systems and automated gates, required
- Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
- Other duties as assigned
