The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of Jewelers Mutual Group’s (JM’s) employees, visitors, and associated property. The security guard is tasked with covering the front desk in the main entrance, patrolling designated areas, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence. This is a part time role, working between 16 and 24 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas
- Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
- Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings (ID badges) and print access control badges
- Enter new employees and terminations in access control system
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy
- Greet and assist employees and visitors with any questions/concerns they might have
- Escalate emergency situations to leadership or law enforcement as needed
- Monitor alarms and security cameras

Qualifications
- Ability to exercise good judgement
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
- Strong surveillance and observation skills
- Familiarity with report writing
- Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems
- Must have working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures
- Flexible job-sharing schedule. Typical hours per week include 16 to 24 hours
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of related experience required
- Prior experience as a security guard/officer required
- Must be trained or willing to train in First Aid, Basic Life Support/CPR and self-defense
