ABOUT THE JOB
Kanna Collective is seeking a responsible and observant Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our bar/lounge premises and the well-being of our patrons and team members during evening operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a smooth and secure environment, allowing our staff to focus on providing exceptional service and our guests to enjoy their experience. This position primarily involves working within the bar/lounge area specifically during weekend and evening hours. As such weekend and evening availability is required for this role.
AT KANNA YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…
- Premise Monitoring: Regularly patrol and monitor the interior and immediate exterior of the bar/lounge area to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and the premises.

Crowd Management: Observe and manage guest behavior to prevent disturbances, address any potential conflicts calmly and professionally, and ensure a positive atmosphere.

Policy Enforcement: Enforce Kanna Collective’s policies and procedures, including those related to responsible cannabis consumption and general conduct.

Access Control: Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized individuals are on the premises, checking identification as needed.

Incident Response: Respond appropriately and effectively to any security incidents, accidents, or emergencies, following established protocols and escalating to management or law enforcement when necessary.

Conflict Resolution: De-escalate potentially tense situations through clear communication and professional demeanor.

Safety Checks: Conduct routine checks of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency exits) to ensure they are accessible and in proper working order.

Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of any incidents, security breaches, or unusual activities.

Collaboration: Work closely with bar staff, management, and other team members to ensure seamless operations and a unified approach to safety and security.

Guest Assistance: Provide general assistance to guests, such as directions or answering basic inquiries, while maintaining a security-focused awareness.

Opening/Closing Assistance: May assist with light opening or closing security-related tasks as directed.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES…

Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
