Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant security guard to join our team at a private Pre-K through 12 educational institution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Please note that this location is situated on the east end of Long Island and commute times will vary based on start times and seasonal variations. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday; 6:00am-7:30pm, 7:00am-3:00pm and 7:00am-4:00pm. Daily breakfast and lunch is included.

Duties

Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activities.
Operate surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to ensure comprehensive coverage of the premises.
Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, conducting thorough investigations as necessary.
Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and safety within the facility.
Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required, ensuring the well-being of individuals in emergency situations.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, maintaining clear communication regarding any incidents or security breaches.
Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage to property.
Manage conflicts effectively, employing conflict resolution techniques to diffuse tense situations.

Experience

Previous experience in law enforcement, military service, or related fields is required.
Familiarity with surveillance systems (CCTV) and monitoring techniques is advantageous.
Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. We encourage candidates who possess these skills and experiences to apply for this vital role in ensuring safety and security.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Base Pay: $30.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
