ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This is a "per-diem" position and hours of work would be 12am - 8am, 8am-4pm, 4pm - 12a; various days; 15 hours offered each week.
- Performs radio checks hourly.
- Provides switchboard relief for Receptionists. Logs calls and delivers messages as required.
- Performs rounds to insure doors on all buildings are secure. Performs interior building checks for internal building security and fire safety.
- Conducts weekly door alarm checks.
- Checks elevators in Wiley Hall, the Health Facility and Acacia Village.
- Aids residents and employees in emergency situations.
- Completes Daily Activity Reports (DAR).
- Prepares work request reports for safety related problems noted during patrol.
- Courier for payroll and check deliveries. Transports resident valuables/money as required.
- Spot checks packages at shift changes.
- Checks grounds for suspicious persons/vehicles or other activities.
- Maintains proper parking in all parking lots. Enforces parking regulations and all rules of vehicle operation on campus roadways.
- Responds to all reported emergencies, conducts investigations where required, completes necessary reports of investigations/complaints.
- Handles traffic control during special events and shift changes.
- Attends/conducts inservice programs as required.
- Attends/assists with fire/safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties of department as requested.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliable, mature individual.
- Good written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to understand and operate radio communication equipment properly.
- Driver's license required prior to hire.
- Ability to drive standard transmission.
- Required license and registration with the New York Department of State as a Security Officer and have completed approved training programs.
The base pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.
The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
