Job Description
Sentry Force Security is seeking reliable experienced Security Officers that are team players to become an integral part of our team. The selected individuals will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons. We offer full and part time positions:
Day shift, Evening shift, Overnight shift
Responsibilities
- Greet all patrons in a courteous, professional and respectful manner.
- Conduct entry point security screening for all personnel, visitors, and contractors using walk-through metal detectors, X-Ray machines and handheld wands.
- Ensure that all bags, parcels and personal bags are inspected in accordance with established policies.
- Deny entry and escalate any individuals carrying prohibited or unauthorized items.
- Request and verify identification for all individuals entering premises.
- Manage guests and visitor access.
- Inspect and test screening devices (metal detectors, X-ray machines, handheld wands)
- Maintain situational awareness and readiness to respond to potential security threats.
- Escalate all incidents and potential breaches to law enforcement.
- Respond to noise complaints and disturbance calls.
- Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies or security incidents in accordance with established protocols.
- Report and document all incidents that occur on client properties.
- Expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Lock and unlock buildings at their designated opening and closing times.
- Accurately complete and submit daily logs and incident reports.
- Submit weapon screening metrics at the end of each shift.
- Be able to work up to 12 hour shift.
Qualifications
- An active Virginia DCJS unarmed security license is required (we cannot accept pending licenses)
- Entry-level positions available, as well as previous experience in security, law enforcement, corrections, or active military duty
- First Aid and CPR / AED certified
- Be able to stand for up to two hours at a time.
- Must be able to walk for extended periods of time, climb stairs, run, lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail
- Must complete a job application, along with providing front / back copy of DCJS license (or official DCJS approval letter) (or DCJS Lotus site screenshot showing your full name, the 99 number, status as 'approved,' and expiration date), Driver's License or valid ID Card, Social Security Card
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
