Position: Armed Security Officer

Shifts:

a) Thursday – Sunday 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Swing)

b) Thursday – Sunday 10:00 PM – 4:00 AM (Grave)

Status: part-time, non-exempt

Location: San Jose, CA

Environment: Hospitality and Gaming Venue

About the Role

As a valued member of Armed Force Security, Inc., you will play a critical role in protecting our clients’ people, property, and assets. Armed Security Officers provide a professional, visible deterrent to theft, trespassing, and unsafe behavior while maintaining composure and professionalism in dynamic environments.

This is an armed, observe-and-report position involving access control, perimeter security, patrols, monitoring cameras and alarms, writing incident reports, and responding to emergencies. Armed Officers serve primarily as a visible deterrent and are expected to prioritize verbal de-escalation, observation, and reporting in accordance with BSIS regulations, site-specific post orders, and company policy.

We are seeking motivated individuals with strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills to join our growing team across the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

· Provide a professional, armed security presence.

· Patrol client properties to ensure safety of property and occupants.

· Control access and enforce client-specific procedures.

· Respond rapidly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.

· Prepare clear and accurate incident reports.

· Act with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

· Carry out site-specific post orders and directives from management.

· Maintain compliance with BSIS training, licensing, and company safety protocols at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

· Strong ability to de-escalate conflicts before they escalate.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· High situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure.

· Ability to work independently and within a team.

· Comfortable using radios, smartphones, and security technology.

· Prior military, law enforcement, or armed security experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements

· California BSIS Guard Card (required).

· BSIS Firearm Permit (required).

· High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework a plus).

· Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, indoors and outdoors, under various conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation).

· Must meet background check requirements after a conditional offer, in accordance with California’s Fair Chance Act.

· Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening in compliance with California law.

· Must maintain all BSIS licenses, permits, and firearm qualifications as required by law.

· Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites across the Bay Area.

· Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

· Uniforms are provided and must be worn in compliance with company policy; Armed Security Officers must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
