Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to oversee activity across the premises and identify potential security breaches
- Control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying identities of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to detect suspicious activity or safety hazards
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies by coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing for theft or vandalism and reporting findings according to protocol
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and inspections for record-keeping and reporting purposes
- Enforce safety policies through conflict management and conflict resolution techniques when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable
- Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and familiarity with loss prevention practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR to provide immediate assistance during emergencies
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Understanding of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and legal regulations related to security operations
