The Twenty Two is a luxury lifestyle hotel and private members’ club located in Union Square, New York. The property blends refined hospitality, dining, and members-only experiences in a historic setting.
We are looking for a Security Guard to join our Security team. This role is based on property and reports to the Security Manager.
Job Purpose:
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, members, employees, and property. This role maintains a visible and professional presence throughout the hotel and club, monitors access points, supports event operations, and responds to incidents with discretion and composure.
This position requires strong situational awareness, excellent judgment, and the ability to balance security enforcement with exceptional hospitality.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintains a professional and visible security presence throughout the property.
- Monitors entrances, exits, and restricted areas to enforce access control protocols.
- Conducts routine patrols of guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
- Monitors surveillance systems and reports suspicious activity.
- Responds promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Supports crowd control and guest flow during member events and nightlife activations.
- Completes detailed and accurate incident reports.
- Assists with key control, vendor access, and lost and found procedures.
- Collaborates closely with Front Office, Membership, and Events teams to ensure a seamless and secure guest experience.
- Becomes familiar with and adheres to hotel policies and procedures
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding guests and staff of The Twenty Two
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Holds a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Possesses previous experience in hospitality, hotel, private club, or nightlife security (preferred).
- Demonstrates strong communication and conflict de-escalation skills.
- Remains calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Maintains availability to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
