Job Overview
The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets. This position requires great observation, reporting, communication, and writing abilities along with excellent de-escalation skills. Must be able to manage conflict situations, and ensure compliance with safety and emergency protocols. This role is essential for fostering a secure environment through effective surveillance and loss prevention strategies.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 3 days a week, Overnight, 12 hour shifts.
Duties:
- Observe, deter and report criminal activity and misconduct
- Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrol as scheduled/required
- Respond to incidents and emergencies and contact First Responders, Supervisor and Management as necessary
- Implement conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate tense situations
- Control access on Sites and remove unauthorized personnel/trespassers
- Prepare detailed hourly activity reports and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as specified in Post Orders
Requirements:
- 1 - 2 years knowledge and experience as a Non-Commissioned (Level II) Security Guard, law enforcement, military or equivalent experience acceptable
- Must have an active Georgia Non-Commissioned Security License or Certificate of Level II Course completion along with verification of DPS application
- Knowledge and understanding of security and emergency response protocols
- Work flexible shifts up to 40 hours per week and adhere to protocol procedures
- Must have own reliable vehicle/transportation.
- Pass a criminal background check, personal references, employment verifications
- Provide military discharge document(s) with discharge status indicated, if applicable
- Have a professional appearance and demonstrate the ability to interact professionally with the public and management
- Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to read, speak, understand and write the English language fluently
- Must have a workable Android or Apple-based smartphone with internet access
- Properly organize thoughts/actions and prepare detailed written reports
- A commitment to maintaining the highest of ethical standards in this role
