Job Summary:
The Night Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property during nighttime hours. This role involves monitoring the premises, responding to emergencies, and providing a visible security presence to deter potential incidents. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, responsible, and have a strong sense of integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance: Monitor all areas of the hotel, including entrances, exits, parking lots, and other critical areas, via security cameras and regular patrols.
- Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the hotel grounds, interior, and exterior to ensure that all areas are secure and that there are no suspicious activities.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or any security breaches. Take appropriate action, including contacting law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
- Guest Assistance: Assist guests with any security-related concerns or issues during the night, providing a reassuring presence and maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Incident Reporting: Document and report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches to the Security Supervisor or Hotel Manager.
- Access Control: Ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to restricted areas of the hotel. Verify the identity of individuals entering the premises after hours.
- Safety Inspections: Perform safety checks on equipment, fire extinguishers, and other safety devices. Report any hazards or maintenance issues that may pose a risk.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with other hotel staff, especially the front desk and management, regarding any security concerns or guest needs.
- Lost and Found: Handle lost and found items according to hotel procedures, ensuring they are logged and securely stored.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
- Ability to remain alert and focused during night shifts.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with guests in a professional manner.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
- Physical ability to patrol the premises and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies at any time during the shift.
