Unarmed Security Guard Responsibilities:
- Preventing illegal or inappropriate actions by maintaining a high visibility presence.
- Performing access control procedures on vehicles and visitors.
- Patrolling the buildings, facilities, and perimeters of the campus.
- Informing personnel and visitors of security procedures and acting upon non-compliance.
- Monitoring alarm systems and video surveillance systems.
- Investigating suspicious activities and disturbances.
- Immediately reporting security breaches to designated law enforcement agents.
- Documenting observations and surveillance activities of vehicles arriving on campus.
- Adhering to security industry regulations.
- Managing the flow of traffic for arrival and dismissal during the school day.
- Maintain traffic flow at intersections, roads, and transportation circles.
- Ensure children cross the street only when safe; report suspicious vehicles or strangers loitering near the school.
- Perform sign and cone setup/takedown procedures, including cleaning and repairs.
- Be alert for potential hazards involving vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment. Take responsible action to prevent accidents.
- Assist guests and employees with directions and information in a friendly, professional manner. Effectively handle first-line conflicts and problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Class D License is required
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment.
- Knowledge of security industry regulations.
- Experience in documenting security procedures and observations.
Hours:
- Monday- Thursday 2pm -7pm
- Friday: 11am -11pm
Salary:
Salary will be based on background and experience.
