Job Summary
We are seeking to fill a Lieutenant Security Guard position who is dedicated and vigilant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quality control of Security Guards in the VCU Academic and Residentail sectors.
Duties
- Responsible for quality control (making sure security guard's reports are completed correctly).
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to deter theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
- Operate CCTV and surveillance equipment to monitor activities on-site.
- Respond promptly to alarms or emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any irregularities observed during shifts.
- Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and safety within the facility.
- Provide assistance in conflict management situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Perform first aid and CPR when required, ensuring the health and safety of individuals on-site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Must have a VA DCJS Unarmed License.
- Two - three years Security Guard experience (with one year supervisor preferred).
- Must articulate well and have good writing skills.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is a plus.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Pay: $18.50 per hour
