Overview:
Our client has implemented new security protocols at select locations, including the deployment of hand-held metal detection wands for use by unarmed security guards stationed at the front entrance. These guards serve as the first point of contact for our guests and play a critical role in ensuring safety, policy compliance, and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wand Screening Procedures
- Conduct hand-held metal detection wand screenings in accordance with site-specific protocols.
- Ensure wand usage is consistent, professional, and aligned with client standards.
- Maintain respectful and clear communication with guests during screenings.
- ID Verification & Entry Policy Enforcement
- Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with site-specific age-related entry policies.
- Acceptable forms of valid, unexpired photo ID include:
- U.S. driver’s license
- U.S. or foreign passport (including passport card)
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., military ID, state-issued ID)
- Valid border crossing card (Mexico or Canada)
- Valid Canadian photo driver’s license or ID card
- Enforce the following entry restrictions:
- Individuals under 18 or 21 (depending on location) must be accompanied by a guardian aged 25+.
- A guardian may accompany no more than 6 minors.
- If a guest refuses to show ID or presents an invalid ID, politely ask them to leave. Notify site management and/or law enforcement if they refuse to comply.
- Customer Service
- Provide consistent, professional, and courteous service to all guests.
- Represent the site with a positive and helpful demeanor.
- Use de-escalation techniques when handling challenging interactions.
- Monitoring & Compliance
- These procedures are being monitored at the corporate level through security cameras.
- Guards must adhere strictly to all screening and verification protocols.
- Any deviation or failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in security, especially in wand operation and ID verification
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Trained in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain professionalism under pressure
Training Requirement:
All guards assigned to these posts must be trained on the procedures outlined above. Written confirmation is required once training is complete.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
