As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high-profile healthcare customer.
The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client's healthcare
premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional
detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides
customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years security or law enforcement preferred
- 2 years healthcare or education preferred
- Driver’s License Class C
- Must pass drug testing and criminal background check.
- Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or
managing stressful situations
- Complete the Level II training course
- Possess a Private Security License
- First Aid/CPR/AEC Certification within 60-days of employment and maintain
certification throughout employment
Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of patients, staff and visitors.
- Escorts visitors, patients, and staff to and from parking areas.
- Assists motorists who become stranded on facility property.
- Provides continuous monitoring of central mechanical plant equipment through hourly
rounding.
- Provides continuous monitoring of building HVAC equipment through remote online
Building Automation System.
- Reports any building maintenance issues found on hourly rounding in the facility work
order request portal.
- Reports any urgent building maintenance concerns the maintenance on call phone
number.
- Checks buildings and assigned areas to ensure safety and security providing
walkthroughs of patient occupied units.
- Conducts search of grounds, buildings, vehicles and assists with unit searches for
contraband.
- Checks perimeter fences, exit doors, fire extinguisher cabinets
- Participate in safety/maintenance inspections on the buildings and grounds. Inspects
electronic locks and security equipment.
- Monitors surrounding area for weather or hazards that could endanger the facility
