1. Patrolling and monitoring
- • Regular inspections and patrols: Conducting foot or vehicle patrols of the premises at irregular intervals to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, theft, or suspicious activity.
- • Monitoring surveillance systems: Continuously observing security cameras, alarms systems, and access control systems for any unusual or unauthorized activities.
- • Detecting potential threats: Staying alert for signs of intrusion, suspicious behavior, or any abnormalities that could compromise security.
2. Access control
- • Controlling entry points: Verifying the identity of individuals entering or leaving the premises and ensuring that only authorized personnel are granted access.
- • Maintaining visitor logs: Keeping a record of all visitors, including their arrival and departure times.
3. Emergency response
- • Responding to alarms and emergencies: Promptly assessing alarms, investigating disturbances, and taking necessary actions to resolve or mitigate the situation.
- • First responder actions: Initiating preliminary investigations into incidents and providing first aid or CPR as needed until professional assistance arrives.
- • Liaising with emergency services: Coordinating with police, fire departments, or paramedics when needed.
4. Reporting and documentation
- • Maintaining detailed reports: Documenting all security-related activities, observations, and incidents during the shift, including any unusual occurrences or suspicious behaviors observed.
- • Submitting incident reports: Promptly completing and submitting accurate incident reports for future reference and analysis.
5. Other duties
- • Enforcing safety protocols: Ensuring adherence to company policies, fire prevention procedures, evacuation plans, and other safety guidelines.
- • Maintaining security equipment: Regularly inspecting, testing, and ensuring the proper functioning of security systems and equipment.
- • Customer service (depending on the environment): In some settings like hotels or residential buildings, providing assistance and information to tenants or visitors.
Night security guards typically work independently or with a limited team and must maintain alertness and vigilance during their shifts to effectively address security needs when the premises are unoccupied or have minimal activity. Strong observational skills, reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to work independently are essential for a night security guard.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
