Colorado Unarmed Security Guard – Candidate Overview
Dear Candidate,
Welcome to the hiring process for a Colorado Unarmed Security Guard position with Byers K9 Services. The following outlines the key expectations, compensation structure, and operational standards specific to this role.
1. Compensation Structure
- Base Pay: $20.00 per hour
- Training / Meetings: $7.25 per hour
- All pay rates are set at entry level and may be adjusted based on performance, reliability, certifications, and tenure.
2. Payroll Schedule
- Employees are paid bi-weekly (every other week) on Wednesdays
- Payroll is processed after client invoicing is completed
- Pay is issued approximately 17 days after the end of each pay period (not from the start of work)
Candidates must be prepared to accommodate this initial payroll timing.
3. Advancement Option (Early Pay Assistance)
- After completing 25 verified work hours, employees may request a pay advancement up to $250
- This is intended as a one-time option to assist during the initial payroll delay
- Advancement requests are:
- Not guaranteed
- Subject to approval
- Deducted from your upcoming paycheck
4. Scheduling & Attendance
- Operations run 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions
- Strict attendance policy enforced:
- Zero tolerance for lateness
- Failure to report on time may result in immediate removal from schedule or termination
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are mandatory
5. Performance Standards
All guards are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability:
- Adhere to uniform and appearance standards
- Follow all post orders and site instructions
- Submit accurate and timely reports
- Maintain clear and professional communication
- Represent the company and client professionally at all times
Failure to meet these standards may result in disciplinary action, including removal from assignment.

Position Overview
Byers K9 Services dba BKS Security is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Unarmed Security Guard to oversee the safety and integrity of our construction sites. This role is ideal for individuals who are responsible, physically fit, and able to work independently while maintaining accountability. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring the premises, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and providing a visible deterrent to unauthorized activity.
Key Responsibilities
· Actively monitor the construction site during assigned shifts, performing thorough patrols and inspections to prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other security breaches.
· Utilize provided body camera and have a reliable cell phone to document activities, incidents, and interactions as required by company policy.
· Maintain clear and professional communication with site management, law enforcement, and emergency services when needed.
· Report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security incidents promptly and accurately.
· Wear the provided uniform to present a professional image and ensure easy identification on site.
· Demonstrate accountability by completing daily logs, incident reports, and company documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Work independently with minimal supervision, managing daily tasks and priorities efficiently.
· Ensure reliable transportation to and from the site using a dependable vehicle.
Qualifications
· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required).
· Have a reliable cell phone for work
· Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and remain focused during long shifts.
· Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Physical fitness sufficient for routine patrols and standing/walking for extended periods.
· Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and reliability.
· Willingness to wear company-issued uniform and utilize provided equipment, including body camera and cell phone.
· Prior security experience preferred but not required.
