Ø Security guard license and training is mandatory
Ø Must have full fingerprinting clearance
Ø Good physical strength and agility
Ø Candidate must take and pass the Glen Cove Civil Service Security Guard Examination when first offered and qualify for placement on the List of Eligible
Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):
Ø Ensure safety of persons using the premises, as required
Ø Provide a safe environment for students and staff
Ø Assist in maintaining the orderly conduct of people in and around the facility
Ø Act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations
Ø Learn and enforce security procedures and regulations; learn the layout of the areas to be guarded
Ø Deal effectively with the public and to be courteous
Ø Understand and carry out oral and written directions
Ø Other duties as required.
