Security Guard – Nanuet Town Centre (Nanuet, NY)

Location: Nanuet Town Centre
Schedule: Fridays & Saturdays, 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM (occasional extension to 2:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Position Type: Unarmed Guard
Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation
Environment: Outdoor patrols required — includes exposure to cold weather

Position Overview

ProtectX International is seeking a professional, observant, and community-minded Security Guard to join our team at Nanuet Town Centre. The ideal candidate is dependable, confident, and able to interact effectively with the public, retail tenants, and law enforcement while maintaining a visible presence to promote safety and deter unlawful behavior.

This position primarily covers Friday and Saturday evening shifts, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts during the week as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct foot and vehicle patrols across mall property, including parking lots and building access points.
Deter and respond to incidents such as theft, trespassing, loitering, and property damage.
Provide prompt assistance to retail tenants and property management during incidents or emergencies.
Coordinate with the camera monitoring center to investigate suspicious activity.
Maintain communication and coordination with local law enforcement when necessary.
Secure and manage roof access points and other restricted areas as directed.
Ensure adequate exterior lighting before nightfall to promote safety and visibility.
Remain alert, calm, and proactive during emergency situations to assist in response and damage prevention.
Maintain clear communication with the ProtectX International office throughout shifts.
Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Previous experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement preferred.
Military or police background a plus.
Must hold a valid driver’s license (required for vehicle patrols).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Physically fit for extended patrols on foot and in vehicles.
Dependable, self-motivated, and professional in demeanor.
