About Us
Complete Playground is the ultimate destination for inclusive family fun in the heart of New York City. As the largest indoor playground in Manhattan, our 40,000-square-foot facility is a vibrant urban oasis featuring wall climbing, slides, interactive play zones, and a specialized fidget wall. We provide a safe, inclusive environment for kids of all neurodiverse backgrounds, including a top-notch sensory space designed to help children relax and recharge.
Job Description
We are looking for a unique professional to join our team as a
Safety and Operations Coordinator. This is not a traditional "standing guard" role; we are seeking a highly observant, experienced individual who can maintain a safe environment while blending in seamlessly with our floor staff.
The ideal candidate has a warm, non-intimidating personality suitable for a children’s environment. You will serve as an "approachable guardian"—ensuring the facility remains secure and orderly while assisting with minor maintenance and operational tasks during quieter periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Safety: Monitor the facility’s entrance and exit points to ensure all children remain safely within the premises and only authorized adults are present.
- De-escalation: Handle any rare guest conflicts or crowded situations with a calm, professional, and friendly demeanor.
- Operational Support: During slower periods, assist the team with basic facility maintenance, equipment assembly, or moving heavy supplies to keep the playground running smoothly.
- Emergency Coordination: Act as the lead for any emergency procedures, including first aid response or facility evacuations, while maintaining a calm atmosphere for children.
- Customer Service: Assist families with strollers, provide directions, and engage with guests in a way that feels helpful and welcoming rather than authoritative.
- Facility Rounds: Conduct regular walkthroughs of our 40,000-square-foot space to identify and resolve any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Experience: Background in Law Enforcement is required.
- Personality: Highly social, friendly, and patient. You must be able to interact positively with energetic children and parents.
- Non-Intimidating Presence: You must be comfortable wearing the standard staff uniform and acting as a helpful member of the team rather than a traditional security figure.
- Versatility: A "no task is too small" attitude. You are willing to pick up a tool or help move a bench when the safety environment is stable.
- Discretion: Ability to identify potential risks and handle them quietly and efficiently without disrupting the "fun" atmosphere of the playground.
- Certifications: Current security licensing and CPR/First Aid certification (or a willingness to obtain them) are required.
- Availability: Must be available for weekend shifts, as these are our highest-traffic days.
